Dad's Chair

My father's chair has broken again. He found it in a pile of rubbish on Dowlais Top. The old Police Station had been emptied before being pulled down to build a new one and its guts had been stacked for burning. Dad spotted the chair and rescued it. He and now I sit on it. It is comfortable and a thing of beauty. The nice man up the road gave it two new legs less than a month ago, but now the other two have gone. It is sitting crippled on the floor, two legs snapped and out of their sockets. It breaks my heart to look at it. 'Nice man - two new legs, please, as good and true as the other two.'

Canalside Suppers

I've just put together a flier for the suppers we do for our favourite charity. We started them last year and they have given us lots of fun. The different combinations of people have proved highly entertaining. The hiccups that have made 2010 already a year to remember have delayed the start. Never mind - let the good times roll.

OOPS!

I have created this blog, but I have no idea how people can access it or I can get back into it. I love computers, but there are some obvious things that just pass me by.

Old Friends

Well, here we are. Had a terrific day today. Had a trip organised to meet very old friends in Leicester, but said I wouldn't go at the beginning of the week, because we'd been hit sideways by a piece of news that opened up wounds from the past.

Anyway, got up this morning and decided to go to Leicester - I am so very pleased I did. I had such a warm welcome. Ten of us meet or a fairly regular basis - I love them all very much. Such very good friends.

We went to the National Space Centre - I think you probably need children with you to get the best out of it - very expensive - but we have an annual pass (?)
